It is said that Grýla has had many romantic affairs. How that mean ol´Troll was able to find a man troll to love her is beyond me.
There are three men that Grýla was in a relationship with that were recorded. The first one is Boli. Together they had many children and he lived to a ripe ol´age. Being that Boli was a troll he lived for thousands of years of course.
The second man that Grýla had some sort of romantic relationship with is Gustur. There is very little known of him other than when he died Grýla ate him. See why I said that it is beyond me how that mean ol´troll was able to find a man!
The third romantic relationship recorded is the most famous one. She was kinda like Angelina Jolie and Bratt Pitt! Back to the story...the third man was Leppalúði. Grýla and Leppalúði had the Yule Lads together. Leppalúði is still around and just like Grýla, Leppalúði loves to eat stewed children too. Leppalúði is scary just like Grýla is but he is too lazy to go out looking for children to eat. Instead he waits at home keeping the pot stirred while Grýla finds some naughty children to eat for supper.
