So are you enjoying reading about the Icelandic Yule Lads? I am having a really good time telling you all about them.

Now on to the second Yule Lad, his name is Giljagaur or in English it would be Gully Gawk. Gully Gawk is another really thirsty lad who would walk along the ravines and deep gullies until he reached a farm house and then he would wait till the milk maid was distracted to get him some milk. He would drink the creamy froth on top first, savoring the flavor of his favorite part of the milk. After he finished the froth Gully Gawk would finish off the rest of the fresh warm milk.

Now these day we just buy milk in the grocery store and Giljagaur is not happy about that, obviously he is missing the froth on top. But it is store bought milk, cold in the refrigerator or nothing and in that case Giljagaur goes for the cold milk.
