Five Question Friday

My Little Life

Today is Five Question Friday which is a blog carnival created by Mama M. After reading the answers to my 5 Questions click on the button above or on Mama M's name to head over to her page and play along.

1. What were you doing the last time you really had a good laugh?

I can't remember the last time I had a really good laugh....wow that's sad!!! Guess I am going to have to do something exciting this weekend to have a really good laugh. Well with Halloween tomorrow I am sure there will be plenty to laugh about :o)

2. Who was your first CELEBRITY crush?

Tupac!!! I loved that man and was so crushed when he died :o( I thought I was going to marry him....

3. What is one talent that you wish you had?

I wish I could cook like a pro!!! I am trying to cook and be good about it but dang it, it does not come naturally for me!

4. How often do you and your spouse go out w/o the kids? Is it frequent enough?

What is going out without kids mean??? No I am just kidding, we definitely don't do it often enough and we probably go out without the boys once a month or once every two months.....oohh man that is really sad. We have always wanted to have a date night once a week or so and never end up doing it. Something always comes up and we cancel our date night.

5. What colour(s) is your bedroom?

My bedroom walls are white but my comforter, bed skirt, curtains, throw pillows and decoration is different shades of green and tan. I love olive green and that is the main color in the room.

Well that was fun right?? It was for me at least :o) Again if you want to play along head over to Mama M's blog. Have a great weekend :o)

Lazy Day

Today has been a lazy day here in our household. Dewayne came home from work early because he did not feel good, Kobe and I have been lounging around all day in our PJ's. Maya has been sleeping for the last few hours and now Kobe is taking a nap in his crib.

I love lazy days. I have not been sleeping good the last few weeks and have been dragging a** all day, everyday! For some reason when I go up to bed at night I will lay there for hours and no matter how hard I try to fall asleep, I can not. Last night I was so tired and by 11 pm I felt like I was going to pass out if I did not go to sleep. I laid in bed till almost 2 am, that's when I gave up and turned the TV on and started knitting. I stayed up till about 3 am and then I finally fell asleep. This is getting really irritating, no matter what time I get up in the morning I can not fall asleep at night. I can go on 3-4 hours of sleep and still have insomnia!?!?

I have been knitting like crazy trying to stock so I can start my etsy shop. I have a pretty decent supply now and all I need to do is take pictures and post them on etsy. I love knitting and all different kinds of crafts. I need to go to the store so I can buy plain white pre cut cards that include envelopes so I can make my own Christmas cards. I have already made a few just to try it out and it is so darn cute that I am going to make my own to send everyone this year. Last year I ordered Christmas cards with our family picture on them and sent those to everyone and they loved it. This year I think maybe I will just include a picture of us or even just the boys inside of the card. That way people can keep the picture or frame it or do whatever they want with it and it doesn't have Christmas decoration on it.

Sorry this post was really random, my mind is not quite here because as I said in the title of the post....this is a Lazy day. Have a great day :o)

Pray for Stellan

Please pray for Stellan. He has been in and out of SVT since last night and is not doing well. He was intubated last night at the hospital and then today when he was extubated he did not do well. Stellan, MckMama and their family need your prayers and support!!! Please visit MckMama's website and show her some love.

It's a Doggy Dog World

So I mentioned in this post that Kobe and Maya play on my bed every morning when I make the bed. Well in the last few days Kobe has been taking the decorative pillows off my bed and dragging them all over the house. Yesterday he brought them into the living room and placed them on the floor next to me (I was sitting at the computer). Maya came running over with her bone and laid down by the pillows. It was so cute, she laid her head on the pillows and chewed on her bone.

Along comes Kobe to lay with his sissy, he brought an apple with him.

Then Markus came over to see what was going on.

The boys and Maya had a hugging session.

Here is Maya laying on the pillows.

Oh wait an apple...let me just sniff it a little bit.

Stretching out trying not to be too obvious about the fact that I am eyeing that apple.

A lick here and there, do you think anyone noticed???

Maybe if I do a cute little trick rolling around on the floor they won't notice that I am by the apple waiting for a chance to lick it again!

Wasn't that cute?? I love my little munchkins!!

Toot Your Horn Tuesday

Tuesday is Toot Your Horn Tuesday which is a blog carnival created by A Silly Little Sparrow where we get to Toot our own horns!!! Join in the fun and click on the button above or on A Silly Little Sparrow and read her and everyone else's Toots!!!

As you can see by the pictures below I have been baking like a mad woman lately!!! I want to use this week to Toot My own Horn because I rock when it comes to baking!!! When I came home from Iceland in August I decided that since I am not working I want to do something special for the boys and bake something for them at least once a week. Since then I have baked cakes, cupcakes and cookie galore. The boys love coming home to something homemade or helping me when I do it with them. These chocolate chip cookies that I made the boys helped with. I make chocolate chip cookies with half the chocolate chips, that is why they look weird.

Here are the cookies getting ready to go in the oven. Markus scooped the cookies onto the baking sheet.

Here is Kobe waiting for the cookies to cool down so he could eat them...then he took a cookie and it was a little bit too hot :o)

The first batch of cookies done!!! Yummy yumm!

Now it is time for you to write your own Toots and link them back to A Silly Little Sparrow. Have fun and have a terrific Tuesday!!!

Not me! Monday (100th Post)

This post is my 100th post!!

It's Monday already, I feel like it was just Monday yesterday!!! Well one good thing about Monday's are the blog carnival that MckMama started called Not me! Monday. It is a fun way of getting all the things off your chest that you would not otherwise say. So join me and the hundreds of other bloggers who play along. Click on the button above or on MckMama's name and it will take you straight to MckMama's blog and you can read her Not me! Monday and everyone else's.

Every morning (well I try every morning) I get up and make my bed and open my curtains in my room. Every morning this little monster does not jump on my bed and get in the pillows.

Every morning he does not play hide and go seek in my pillows.

And every morning he does not toss all the pillows all around and scream and try to scare his Mamma when he pops out of the pillows.

And every morning no matter how many times he has not done this, it is just as cute as the first time he did not do this. The funny thing is that Maya (my daughter oh I mean dog) does this with him. I just didn't have my camera upstairs when she was with Kobe. The two of them messing up my bed a few times a day are so not the cutest little munchkins ever!!!

So I have mentioned the dresser I am refinishing in this post and I swear to you all that I have not been busting my ass trying to refinish this dresser and this last week I did not have the paint sitting on top of the grill while I was waiting to go back to my project. My wonderful, beautiful, never naughty, always behaving daughter...ahem dog did not knock the paint can off the grill and all over my patio!!! This did not cause blue paint to go all over the place, including all over Maya!!!

This is what my patio did not look like when I let Maya inside. I was so frantic that I did not scream for the boys to take Maya straight upstairs and give her a bath before getting a picture of my blue dog.

This is not a second shot of my patio covered in blue paint!!!

So this edition of Not me! Monday ended up being about my wonderful never naughty Kobe and Maya. If you want to play along and write your own Not me! Monday just click on the button above or head over to MckMama's blog. Have fun and have a wonderful Monday!!!

Hunt Club Farm

This week I took the boys to Hunt Club Farm in Virginia Beach to pick a Pumpkin. They have a great set up there that is really family friendly. There was a petting zoo part, a hay ride, pumpkin patch (of course) and rides. Tyrique went off on his own to hang out with friends and ride the rides and Markus, Kobe and I went exploring the farm with our neighbors.

Here is Kobe after I placed a pumpkin on him in the stroller. It was really heavy and as excited as he was to hold it he wanted me to get it off of him more than anything else in the world!!

Here is Markus with the pumpkin he choose for our family.

Kobe sitting in his stroller at the pumpkin patch.

Kobe and I on the hay ride.

Here is Markus with the neighbors on the hay ride.

Tyrique and his friend (I got them to pose for one pic before running off to have a good time).

Rooster!!

Mamma Sheep and her baby Lamb.

Hello there...

Here we were in a fenced in area where the kids were able to chase and catch the chickens on their own.

Markus caught a chicken (no we did not take it home to cook it :o)

We had such a great time at the Hunt Club Farm, this is our second time going and it was just as much fun as the first time. The boys love going there to pet the animals and pick a pumpkin. The surprise this year was the hay ride which we all loved!!!

Five Question Friday

My Little Life

Since I had such fun playing Five Question Friday last week I decided to do it again this week. If you want to play along just click on the button above or go to Mama M's page.

1. Whats your favorite horror movie?

I don't really like horror movies but if I had to pick just one I would say Saw or Final Destination (ok so I couldn't pick just one). Even though I have only seen three of the Saw movies, I liked the three that I did see. I will never forget when I watched the first one....the ending pissed me off so bad that I jumped off the couch screaming. I have a hard time sitting still long enough to watch a whole scary movie and then to sit there through that movie and have it end that way pissed me off. The Final Destination was a good movie and I have seen all of them except the new one that just came out. I will see that one when it comes out on HBO or Showtime or something.

2. Bath tub or Hot tub?

Well if I had a choice I would have to say BOTH!!! I love taking baths, I take one almost every day. It is so relaxing to lay in the tub with a good book and some candles lit (the candles are not an everyday thing, they are reserved for really hard days LOL). I also love Hot tubs and if I had one in my house or on my patio I would probably use it every day. I would also just take a jacuzzi tub in the master bathroom and skip out on the bath tub and hot tub :o)

3. Do you prefer to view a movie at the theater or at home?

I think I would have to say at home. My husband will tell you in a heart beat that I can not sit still long enough to watch a movie (I have ADHD when it comes to sitting still to watch anything on TV or even a movie, I can always come up with 6 thousand other things that I could be doing instead of wasting time sitting on the couch). I do like to go to the movies every once in a while though. I love that I can pause the movie when I watch it at home :o)

4. If you could chose a maid, cook or chauffeur, which one would you choose?

A maid no a cook no a maid no a cook no a maid no a cook. I don't mind cooking but it would be really nice to have someone here to do it for me so that we can eat healthy food. If I had a choice I would only have my family eat all organic and healthy food but I can not afford it. But if it really came down to it I think I would have to choose a maid!!! Then at least my house would stay clean all the time....poor maid would be working her ass off and never get a break....oh wait that's what I do all day every day!!! As I am typing this post I am doing laundry, dishes and cleaning (just took a few minute break to write a little something here :o). Yep I think I would definitely choose a MAID!!!

5. Electric Slide, Boot Scootin' Boogie, or the Macarena?

None of the above!!! I make a HUGE fool of myself when I try to dance to these kinds of songs so I just do not do it!!! I try to avoid embarrassing myself in public every chance I get....being clumsy and tripping over my own two feet and bumping into everything is embarrassing enough for me.

Well that was a whole lot of fun. If you want to answer these Five Questions on this wonderful Friday just visit Mama M for her blog carnival Five Question Friday!!!

Have a great weekend everyone!!!

Not feeling so good Thursday

No I am not trying to start any kind of blog carnival with the title. Kobe and Tyrique are sick....again!!!! They were just sick the other day, how can this be happening again??

It all started on a cold rainy night...

Hahaha just kidding, it all started this morning at 4:48 am. Kobe woke up crying and was absolutely miserable. I picked him up out of his crib and tried to comfort him so he would go back to sleep and of course the only thing that worked was bringing him to Mamma and Daddy's bed. He fell asleep soon after we snuggled tightly together. He didn't sleep very well after that but he slept at least.

A few hours later I woke Markus and Tyrique up so they could get ready for school. Tyrique woke up sneezing this morning and I am talking about not just a sneeze here and there....he sneezed what must have been 10 times in a row over and over and over again. Poor thing he has really bad allergies and sneezes all the time but never as bad as he did this morning. Tyrique sneezed his way through his morning routine and took his Claritin like he does every morning before he left for school.

Well Kobe woke up about 8 am and when he did he was really grumpy!!! He wanted nothing to do with anything other than his Mamma. We snuggled in the bed for about another hour and then Kobe started complaining that his ear hurt! Poor thing was pulling at his right ear and sticking his little fingers in it. "Mamma...my eeer hut" Well I called the pediatricians office and of course they have nothing open until tomorrow afternoon. So I decided to take him to the ER so he would not have to suffer for 30+ hours.

As I am getting ready to leave to go to the Er Tyrique's school calls. The nurse said that Tyrique's allergies were so bad that he was just miserable. She said that he did not have a fever and I didn't have to pick him up if it was a problem but his head was hurting and he was really congested. Of course I am not going to make my child suffer through the day not feeling good so I went and picked him up on my way to the ER with Kobe.

At the ER we found out that Kobe doesn't have an ear infection but he has fluid in the inner ear. The Dr said that sometimes it leads to ear infections and it causes a lot of pain and she told me to give Kobe Tylenol and Motrin for the pain. Guess what that mean??? I will be back in the ER in the next few days with Kobe because he will have a full blown ear infection!!!

So home we went and Kobe and Tyrique both laid down for naps. Tyrique is feeling better after he woke up (I gave him benedryl when we got home) and Kobe seems to be better on pain meds. I am hoping that everyone will be all better tomorrow :o)

Now I am going to go lay down and watch all my favorite shows. Have a great night everyone :o)

Busy Day

Today was a busy day from the time we got up until now. I am so sleepy that I am going upstairs into my bed and going to sleep. Have a great night everyone.

Oh by the way...this wonderful, adorable, cute, cuddly Mamma's girl turned 6 months old yesterday!!! She is half a year old :o) My pretty little girl, she is so shy around the camera....always looks away when I try to take her picture. Well I got one of her on the couch yesterday and it has her beautiful little face in it.

Here is my little girl sitting pretty for Mamma, she of course turned away from the camera as soon as I tried to take the picture.

Happy half a year Birthday Maya!!! We love you Princess :o)

Toot Your Horn Tuesday

It is finally Tuesday and you know what that means...Toot Your Horn Tuesday time again!!! After reading my Toots click on the button above or on A Silly Little Sparrow and you can join in the fun. Toot about all the wonderful things you have done that no one else is giving you credit for or just tell the blog world all the wonderful things you have done that all your IRL (In Real Life) friends and family have already patted you on the back for.

This week I have something wonderful to Toot My Horn about!!! I have gone 9 days without smoking!!! I did it, I quit smoking finally!!! I am so proud of myself for quitting, I did great and I have no cravings and my temper was in check the whole time. I started by wearing the nicotine patch the first two days and then on the third day I forgot to put the patch on and I didn't realize it until later that night and I decided that I was not going to put on another patch if I didn't need one. Guess what??? I never needed another patch after that!! I quit!!! I did it :o) I am so excited that I did it, I don't want my kids to grow up and smoke. I want to be a better example to the boys and I want to live a healthier life for them. I don't smell bad anymore and I don't have to excuse myself from fun activities so I can go outside to smoke anymore!!!

I ROCK!!!

Ok now that I am done patting myself on the back and Tooting my Horn for all of blog world to read...it is your turn. Click here and write your own Toot Your Horn Tuesday post!!! Have a great Tuesday!!

Not me! Monday

It is time for Not me! Monday. Did you do something really embarrassing that you are to ashamed to tell anyone??? Don't be....join the fun and write your own Not me! Monday and you could win something this week!! That's right there is a give away at MckMama's blog to one lucky participant (please let it be me :o). So after reading my Not me! Monday click here, here or here to be directed straight to MckMama's blog and join in the fun!!!

My mind is not completely blank right now trying to think of something that happened in the last week. I really NEED to write a list every week for Not me! Monday because by the time Monday comes around my mind goes blank!!!

Oh I just thought of something really funny that did not happened the other night. I was not cooking pork tenderloin for dinner when Tyrique walked into the kitchen and asked me what was for dinner. I then did not look into the pan that the pork was laying in waiting to go into the oven and tell my son that we were having PIG PENIS for dinner!!!! I laughed so hard my stomach was hurting at his expression. Tyrique and I have a really good relationship and I know that he can take a joke like that and still eat his dinner as if it is the best thing he has even tasted....Markus on the other hand is not one of those children.

So about an hour later dinner is not sitting on the table waiting to be devoured when Markus walks into the kitchen and asks what's for dinner. Tyrique did not turn around and tell him PIG PENIS!!! OMG I thought I was going to fall off my chair laughing. Markus did not turn every shade of green then and refuse to eat his dinner.

When we sit at the table we play a little game telling everyone what our good of the day was and our bad of the day. Well I did not wait till Markus had had a few bites of his meat to tell him that my good of the day was that since I am not working anymore and we are trying to save money every way we can, that I was really excited to find this really cheap pork at the store so I can feed my kids. I then did not say that the cheap pork was PIG PENIS and watch Markus turn every shade of green again. Hahahahahaha

Sometimes being the Mamma of a bunch of boys is so much better than other times!!! Imagine if I would have had a girl sitting at that dinner table....she probably would have had a hissy fit (I just say that because I am really jealous of everyone that has little girls because I will never have one)!!!

That is it for this weeks edition of Not me! Monday sorry it was really gross!!! Remember to head over to MckMama's blog and join in the fun so you can have a chance at that giveaway!!! Don't forget about TOOT YOUR HORN TUESDAY tomorrow!!!!

Cooking and Baking

In the last few weeks I have been experimenting with new recipes and here are the results....

Mamma's Lasagna

I have always wanted to try to make homemade Lasagna but never did and who would have guessed it was so easy?? And it was really yummy!!! As a matter of fact we are going to have Lasagna for dinner tonight :o)

Banana Bread

I found some recipe online and decided to make Banana bread. It was not a very good recipe! The Banana bread took forever to bake and it was not very tasty. I don't know if I made a mistake in the making or if it was just a bad recipe but it is definitely not a recipe I will try again.

Sugar Cookies

I love Sugar cookies and have always wanted to make some and the other day I got brave :o) The Sugar cookies came out really good and were gone before we knew it. The boys said that they don't like sugar cookies as much as they like chocolate chip cookies so we are making them today.

I love to have some kind of goodie in the house for the boys when they come home from school...maybe not every day but at least once a week. I usually make a cake or cupcakes but I have been in the cookie making mood for the last few weeks. I made about 6 dozen chocolate chip cookies today and I am trying to decide if I want to make another kind of cookie just so I have some here for the boys. I don't know if I feel like it though, I have a lasagna to make in the next few hours. I will let you know what I decide and show pics of it later...I took pics of the chocolate chip cookies today :o)

Five Question Friday

My Little Life

This is a blog carnival created by Mama M. at My little life. I have never played this game before so I decided that today is the day to start :o) If you want to play along, just click on the button above or here and it will take you directly to Mama M's. page.

1. What phrase, or phrases, do you say a lot (holy cow, geez, seriously?)

I say Blah Blah Blah all the time and huh? I didn't realize how often I said huh until all of a sudden Kobe was always saying huh and someone pointed it out to me. Oops!!

2. Swimming: Are you a kamikaze off the boat, take the plunge from the deep end, or a gradual, slow submersion from the shore or shallow end kind of person?
Well I am definitely a slow submersion from the shore or shallow end kind of girl. It is only because I do not want to get my hair wet!!! If I plan on getting my hair wet then I don't mind jumping off the diving board but I hate to get chlorine in my hair.

3. Have any tattoos? If not, what would you get?

I have two tattoos. One on the inside of my left ankle and as soon as I can afford to have it removed I will. I got it when I was 17 years old and it was a HUGE mistake!!! My second tattoo is a tramp stamp (lower back), I got it in 2004 and I love it!!

4. What is your favorite tree?

Brussel's Bonsai Golden Fate Ficus. Here is a link to look at the picture and you can purchase them at Home Depot :o)

5. Two pronged question: What is your favorite non-physical thing about your spouse? What is your favorite physical thing about your spouse or significant other?

My favorite non-physical thing about Dewayne is the fact that he is so supporting. I love to scrapbook and knit and he is so supportive of my hobbies. Of course he is a great Hubby and Daddy but I am talking about besides that. He is also great at cleaning the house spot less for me on a regular basis!!! Love that :o)

My favorite physical thing about Dewayne is his eyes and his smile. He is gorgeous and I love his smile and his eyes can melt me from the inside out.

Well that's it for Five Question Friday. I had fun and I think I will play along again. If you want to play along then just place your mouse cursor over this and push the button and it will take you over to Mama M's blog.

Have a great weekend everyone!!!

Kobe's ENT appointment

Kobe had his ENT appointment this afternoon in regards to the tubes in his ears. The tube on the right side is gone and the one on the left side is now laying in his ear canal loose. Kobe has had two ear infections since August 19th and the Dr agreed that we need to put new tubes in his ears. If we don't then he will continue to have ear infections like he did before. So we are now waiting for a phone call letting us know what date we are to come in for the surgery.

Hopefully they can get him in there as soon as possible because we might be moving in December and I don't want to move without getting those tubes put in his ears first. So keep my little man in your thoughts and prayers and I will keep you updated.

Toot Your Horn Tuesday

Good Morning (almost afternoon), it is time for Toot Your Horn Tuesday!!! This is a blog carnival created by A Silly Little Sparrow as a way for us Mom's to Toot our Horns when no one else recognizes all the things we do. Or just for us to Toot our Horn for something we want more recognition for :o) After reading my blog click on the button above or here to visit A Silly Little Sparrow and join in the fun!!!

I am starting my Toot off by saying that today is day 2 of quitting smoking for me and I am so proud of myself!!! I have wanted to quit for awhile but my last attempt didn't end so well. This time I am going to do it come hell or high water!

As a family we used to always sit at the dinner table and eat together. We got away from that awhile back and it has always bothered me that we do not sit and eat together. This weekend I told Dewayne that we will sit together from now on. On Sunday I cooked a HUGE meal and had everyone sit together at the dinner table. The boys asked me if it was a Holiday because we had so much food :o) Nope I just wanted to go all out and have something good to eat since it was Sunday! Anyway we will now sit together at that dinner table and eat and talk about our day like we used to. The boys were so excited when we were all sitting there. Markus asked if he could say grace and of course we let him and he was so cute taking his time and making sure to say the right thing cause it was his first time :o)

That's it for today's Toot Your Horn Tuesday. Go visit A Silly Little Sparrow and join in the fun....you won't regret it.
