Just Thursday

Before anything else I want to start out by wishing my wonderful Aunt Sharla a Happy belated Birthday!!!  I'm sorry I am the worst niece ever and forgot to contact you on Tuesday :o(  I hope you had a wonderful day, wish I could have been there....or at least wished you a Happy Birthday on your special day!!!

Ah, it's Thursday and in a little over 2 hours I am off for 3 whole days :o)  I can't wait!!!!  Sorry I have been slacking on my blog this week but life has been really crazy hectic.  I ended up working 48 hours last weekend and slept for about 10 hours the whole weekend and it wore me out...I can't wait for that paycheck though :o)  It's all going to pay for the renovations on the house but it will look really good in my bank account for the 2 minutes it's there LOL.

I am at work and it's busy so I don't have time to chit chat but I did want to get my Just Thursday post up.  Head on over to Abby's blog and join in the fun!!!

Outside my window..the weather is blah (cloudy and it was raining earlier today).

The time is.. 5:05 PM and it is almost time to go home for the day (I started this blog post almost 2 hours ago and I know I am going to have to finish this when I get home because today has been crazy busy).

Today I feel..exhausted after a crazy day at work....it is now 11:37 PM and I am finally getting around to finishing up this post!

I am thinking..that my bed looks really nice and comfy right now :o)

At the moment, I am thankful..thankful it's Just Thursday and I have the next 3 days off.

I am going..to sleep!!!

I am wearing..PJ bottoms and a tank top.

I wish.. we were billionaires :)<---Me too Abby!!!

I am reading.. nothing other than blogs!

I am working on..one day at a time.  I am the kind of person that is always thinking about tomorrow and right now I am just going to enjoy the moment.

I am hoping..Kobe will go to sleep for me...he is still up!?!?!?!

I am hearing..Kobe jumping on my bed telling me that he is doing flump flips (front flips).

Around the house.. I dunno, I haven't really been out of my room since I got home.  We had a family get together in my room and have all been laying around chit chatting all night.  I just kicked everyone out so I can go to sleep!!

I bet you didn't know..we still have a ton of ash all over Iceland and it is a pain in the butt for car rental companies (Hertz=me).

One of my favorite..times of bed when I am working is bed time....my days seem endless sometimes!

My weekend plans include.I dunno!!!  I am thinking of going to my Mamma's house this weekend but we still haven't decided anything.  This weekend is a 3 day weekend in Iceland and the biggest travel weekend of the summer.

Now that I am finally done filling this out.....9 hours later!!!  I am going to sleep!

Good night everyone!!!

Your Reality

My Reality is not your Reality!!

Just because we are living in the same house, the same town, the same country or the same world does not mean you understand me or you think the same way as I think.

My sister said this to me the other day...not because there was anything wrong but because it was something that she had thought about when she was in school.  My sister is one of those artsy fartsy people and she thinks a whole different way than anyone else I know.  She thinks in colors and shapes and I think more black and white.  She was telling me that we can look at the same thing and think two very different things.

I love it....my sister is a genius and I love to get a glimpse into her mind.  The way she thinks about life is so wonderful.  She is so mellow and quiet while I am loud and hyper!  Have I ever mentioned that we are twins born 23 months apart???  We are!!  We are like day and night, like ying and yang but yet we fit perfectly together.  Being back here in Iceland is like having my right hand back.....I didn't realize how hard it was to live without my right hand!!!

Sorry, I got a little carried away with talking about my sister...I really do love her to pieces :o)

The other thing I was going to write is

Lack of planning on your part....does not mean emergency on my part!!!

I love this saying!!  My sister and one of the girls that works with us found this saying the other day and I love it.  How true is it!!!

Do you have any great sayings that you want to share?

30 by 30 and Getting to know YOU

I have had a crazy weekend, all together when my shift ends tonight (if it ends at 2 AM) I will have worked a total of 46 hours since Friday morning at 5:30 AM.  That is not including the 24 hours I worked on Monday and Tuesday!!!  That is one crazy work week!!!  It is coming to an end though and I have the next two days of and then Friday-Sunday off :o)

Now I do have some fabulous news to share with you...I have been watching what I am eating and riding my bike and working out on an elliptical trying to lose 30 pounds by my 30th birthday which is on January 19th.  Well since I started a little over a week ago I have lost 4.4 pounds :o)  That means I have 25.6 pounds to go and a little less than 6 months to achieve my goal...if I keep going like this I think I will make it!!!

I have been trying to eat healthy and cut down on my sugar and bread.  I am drinking as much water as I can handle and I have been allowing myself one coke a day (that is pretty much just for the caffeine at work)....I will admit that this weekend I have drank more than one coke a day just because of the hours I am working.

I am so proud of myself for the amount of weight I have lost and I was really excited when my little sister came over tonight and the first thing she said to me was that I look like I have lost weight....score!!!!  Thanks Amelia...that is why you are my favorite next youngest sister :o)

Now to some questions from our favorite gal Keely from Mann Land 5 who is the fabulous host of Getting to know YOU.  Just click on the button above to play along.

1. Thong or Granny Panties?

I like boy shorts best but I do like to wear Hanes bikini cut panties too.  They are super comfortable and they do not ride up...win-win situation if you ask me!!

2. If you see a guy with his fly down, do you tell him?

Yep....well most of the time!!  I will just either ask him if he is afraid of height and when he answers I will tell him his zipper is too or I will just simply say....hey, your fly is down!!!

3. Spanx or no Spanx?

I do not own a pair but I wouldn't mind having some for those times when I am going somewhere and I do not want my belly in the way....hopefully I won't have to worry about that in 6 months :o)

4. Do you sleep in your sheets?

Nope, I never use the top sheet...it always gets all tangled and it drives me insane!!!  I use a duvet and it has a cover that I was every time I wash my sheets.

5. What is your favorite Disney character?

Belle from Beauty and the Beast!!

6. Dream vacation spot?

Jamaica and one fine day I am going to make it there!!!  I want to take a cruise to Jamaica and then I want to stay there for a week or two enjoying the beaches, weather and food!!!

7. What is your dream job?

To be a lawyer!!

8. Who is your hero and why?

I have a lot of hero's.  They are all Hero's in their own special way.

My Mamma is my hero because she raised 4 girls on her own and she did  a great job by the way LOL.  Seriously though, my Mamma has been through a lot and she always comes out on top and she has taught us sisters right when it comes to the ways of the world and I love her so much for that.  My Mamma has gone to school three times in my lifetime...she went to college to learn to be a clothing designer (I think that is what you call it??), she is a architectural drafter and she is a landscape architect.  She did all this while raising 4 kids all by herself!!!

My step-dad Gunnar Gauti is my hero because of all the things he has overcome in his life.  He was diagnosed with colon cancer on September 6, 2007 and after loads of chemo and hard work he is in remission!!!  He is the most patient person I have ever met in all of my life....he has the heart of gold and it takes a lot to be like that.

My sisters are my heros because of what they have overcome....we had to deal with an alcoholic father and all that includes!!!  Having made it through that takes a real Hero!!!

My Grandmother is my hero because when my Grandfather died 15 years ago she had to start all over again.  It was so hard for her, they had been together for years (I want to say 40 but I am not 100% sure how long and my Mamma isn't answering her phone so I can ask her) and she had to learn how to live her life after losing the love of her life.  Today would have been my Grandfathers 80th birthday...Happy Birthday Afi minn!!!  My Grandmother has traveled the world since my Grandfathers passing, learned how to dance Salsa, joined all kinds of activities and she has lived life for both of them.

I could go on forever but I am going to stop here.

Now I am going to go to sleep since I have to be back at work in less than 3 hours.

Have a great Sunday everyone!!!

I wanna be a millionaire

Have you heard the song I wanna be a billionaire so freaking bad??  It is by Travie McCoy and the actual title of the song is Billionaire (I just looked it up).

Well it has become a fast favorite in our household and we are always singing that song.  While listening to this song the other day I started thinking about how much I want to be a millionaire (I would love to be a billionaire but lets just be realistic).  I was thinking of ways to become a millionaire and I thought in order to become a millionaire I first have to start saving my money.  I was telling my sister and my boys that we need to figure out ways to make extra money to put into our millionaire account and the boys had some good ideas.  Markus said that he could mow lawns and Tyrique said he would be willing to wash cars.  I thought that was a great idea and then Markus said that we can have a garage sale.  The garage sale is a great idea but well, we have already done that and we didn't come to Iceland with very much stuff so we don't really have anything to sell.

I was thinking that I can keep knitting and selling my stuff and put that money into our millionaire account.  We are going to quit eating out and put that money into our millionaire account instead.  Maybe once Kobe is potty trained I can put his diaper money into the account too :o)  I am also going to start putting a little bit aside each month into the account.  I love the fact that the boys were so into this and I think this is a great way to teach them some responsibility and get them into the savings mind set.  I know it is going to take us a lifetime to achieve this goal but I am really excited about this goal of ours.  I am even thinking that a great thing to do would be to make a poster like you see in the movies where we mark it until we reach our goal....in our case maybe we can do $500 or $1000 goals at a time.

What do you think?  Do you have a millionaire account?  Does your family have a savings plan that you do as a family?  How do you teach your child/children about money saving?

Five Question Friday

Oh how I have always loved Friday's, ever since I can remember it has been almost my favorite day of the week...no maybe it has been my favorite day of the week.  Friday means that it is the last day of work for the week and it is really the first day of the weekend!!!  Back in the day Friday nights were my party nights (waaaay back in the day) lol.

Even though I am working shift work right now I still love Friday's.  One of the best parts of Friday's is that Mama M over at My Little Life has a fun blog hop called Five Question Friday.  She asks the questions and we answer them.  If you want to play along just click on the button above!

1. What were your school colors?

Blue and Gold!!!

2. What's the best compliment you ever received?

The day before my 28th birthday I was carded trying to buy a lottery ticket and when the lady behind the counter saw that I was about to turn 28 she was shocked and said I didn't look a day over 17 :o)  It made me feel pretty darn good to know that!!

3. Do you buy cheap or expensive toilet paper?

I buy the cheap stuff here in Iceland but in the states I bought Scott....I have a problem with one of my many sons using too much toilet paper and clogging the toilet and I have found out that when I use Scott it doesn't clog the toilet like Charmin does.

4. Have you ever had a surprise party thrown for you? Or have you had one for someone else?

I had a surprise baby shower thrown for me when I was pregnant with Tyrique.

5. What is one material possession that you "can't live without"?

My computer!!!  I am so hooked and I have come to realize that I am addicted to my computer.  I have my Mac and my laptop at my sisters house and if I am not sitting at my desk using the Mac then I have my laptop close by :o)

Had to share with you!!!

Just Thursday

I can't believe it is already Thursday....wasn't it just Monday yesterday??  Today is my last day off before I have to work the weekend :o(

We went to the lighthouse yesterday and were going to have a picnic there and let the kids play on the beach and in the water.  We brought the dog along (my sisters super cute dog) to let her swim in the ocean with the kids and run out all her energy.  We get to the lighthouse and wouldn't you know....it was really cold there!!!  Like I'm talking it was freezing!  We went up to the lighthouse and looked around and ran walked back to the car and came home.  We had a picnic on the grass in the back yard instead.  62 degrees is not warm enough to go by the ocean where it is windy to have a picnic...lesson learned!

Now as you all know (and if you don't know then now you know) Abby over at Murdock's Mama has a blog hop going on every Thursday called Just Thursday.  Last week she threw me off a little bit by adding a new question in there and I had already written my blog post and everything :-O  Let's hope she doesn't do that this week too because I know she is probably sleeping very peacefully in her bed right now and I am already posting my Just Thursday blog post.  So if you want to play along just hop on over to Murdock's Mama and have a great time!!!

Outside my window.. before I tell you I have to get up and look because the blinds are closed.....

Oh now I can tell you, outside my window is the house next door and some grass between the two houses :o)

The time is.. 9:22 AM

Today I feel.. grateful to have my computer at my sisters house finally (I went to my house and got it last night so I didn't have to work on my laptop....I really missed my Mac).

I am thinking.. about the answer to this questions LOL.  I am not really thinking about anything special...just that I kinda wished I could spend the day in bed watching movies or blog hopping!

At the moment, I am thankful.. for the day off :o)

I am going.. to help my sister clean house today and then we are just going to chill.

I am wearing.. a nightgown.

I wish.. I could see the future!

I am reading.. blogs :o)  I finished my book and am not starting a new one with everything else that is going on (same answer as last week).

I am working on.. getting off my butt and starting to clean....

I am hoping..  the weekend goes by fast since I am working!

I am hearing.. the kids playing.

Around the house.. the kids are playing and toys are scattered...not for long!!

I bet you didn't know.. my blood type is O+   (I didn't know what else to put LOL).

One of my favorite.. new brands is Ed Hardy!!

My weekend plans include..working, working and more working!!!
