Great News...Great Day

At noon today I had a meeting with Tyrique's school in regards to his evaluation that they did in December. I got some wonderful news from his school that I have been hoping and praying for...Tyrique is going to be placed in 7th grade within the next few days. If you have not read about Tyrique's story, you can click here to read what I wrote.

Anyway, Tyrique will be placed in a seclusion classroom for math, that means that there will be two teachers to every 5 students. He will go to inclusion classrooms for the rest of his classes, that means that there are 2 teachers in a regular size classroom. The Assistant Principle that is now in charge of The Special Education program is awesome and he said that he does not believe in retaining children, he said it makes children feel like they are not good enough. I agree with him 100% and I am so relieved to get someone who has the children's best interest at heart and not what is best for the school and everyone else.

I am so excited and I am so proud of myself for being such a great advocate for my children. This is a fight that I have been fighting for 4 school years and I finally won, it took a lot of blood, sweat and tears but it was worth it.

Now on to new number 2 for the day!!! Dewayne has found a house for us to rent in Illinois. We will get to move in the day we arrive there and from the pictures and everything Dewayne has told me about the place, it sounds and looks great. The landlord said we can paint and do whatever we want to make the place feel more like home. I love it :o) I am so proud of my husband for finding us a home. I can't wait to see it for myself but I did see a lot of pictures and it looks good. I can't wait for my Mamma to come visit and help me make curtains for the whole house :o) Mamma come visit me soon, I will be there by February 2nd and you can come at anytime after that :o)

That is it for exciting news for me...oh no, wait!!! I just remembered one more thing! My next door neighbor came over last night with some sort of antenna and now I have 6 channels to watch on my TV :o) I can watch The Biggest Loser tonight and I can watch Gray's Anatomy and Private Practice on Thursday. Yippy!!!

I made Sloppy Joes for dinner tonight and the best part is, they were made from scratch!!! I will have to share my recipe at some later date, they turned out so good and they were so easy to make. The boys told me that they were better than Manwhich, which is their favorite. Ok off to put the baby to bed. Good night everyone.

I was faithful to pray for you, girlie! I hope your house is homey - or that you can make it that way, anyhow. So, your Mom is going to make it over to Illinois for you?
Now, to get those pictures on-line so we can see them.... :)
Feb. 2nd??? Wow! This will be quick! No moss grows under your feet, huh???
And, I'm so happy to hear about Tyrique! You're a good Mom! That's what us good moms do. I'm proud of you, too!

Yippee for awesome news. Way to hang in there and fight for your son. It's hard work sometimes but so worth it in the end. The hardest part of moving for me is the stress of finding a house. Once that's found I'm golden. Everything else is easy after that. I'm so happy that you had a good day!
