Not Me! Monday. Mamma's Girl

Welcome to Not Me! Monday! This blog carnival was created by MckMama. You can head over to her blog to read what she and everyone else have not been doing this week.

My Mamma did not leave today! I am not incredibly sad and I do not want to lay in bed and cry all day. I am not a Mamma's girl and I do not love to have her around and wish she could live next door.

I did not walk in the door after dropping her off at the airport and have to hold back tears because now my home seems so empty without my Mamma here. I walked all around the house and looked for signs of my Mamma and I have to say the best part is that she left her mark all over my house. In every room there is something that she made, left for me or bought me and I love that.

Do you ever wish you could go back to the time where you live at home with your parents? I have been living on my own for 11 years now and I think it would be really hard to live with my parents again but I would love to have my Mamma around. It would be so great if I could come home to home cooked meals every day and have my Mamma's homemade cookies and goodies. I wish I could cry on her shoulder when I have a bad day and I wish I could rush home to tell her about something exciting that happens too.

Since I am not going to go back in time and I am not planning on moving to Iceland and into my Mamma's house, I will just have to settle for the internet! I will be happy with just having Skype and being able to see my Mamma and the rest of the family anytime I feel homesick.

Thank you Mamma for coming to see us and helping me make my house a home. I love you and miss you!

No, unfortunately, I didn't have a parent that I would choose to ever live with again, but I think it is so nice that you did...and it is nice to see that you appreciate her!

I sure hope my kids feel that way about me one day! ;)

I hope you get to see her again soon.

I love my parents with all my heart but they would drive me crazy to have them around all the time. I love our visits and even offered to let them move in with me (as they are getting older) but the reality is our relationship is probably better with a little distance between us.

Oh man, there are days when I DO wish I still lived at home with my mom. She used to treat me like the royalty I truly am. My DH actually expects me to do HOUSEWORK. Yuck :)

I cry when my mom leaves after visits too. I'm such a sap, but I miss her before she's even left!

Although I could never live with my mom again at her house, (she could live with me) I do miss all the things she use to do for me!!

I am sorry she had to go but glad you got to spend time with her!!

I love my mom like that, too. I know what you mean. That's probably why you are such a great mom, yourself. I'm sure you'll be a great MIL to your DIL's! (That's how my MIL is to me, she only had boys, and she treats her DIL's like daughters.)

You are blessed. :) Me, too.
