Chaos

I have now had internet for 5 days and I am so sorry that I haven't had time to read all of your blogs. I am not ignoring you!!! I miss you all so much, I just don't have time to read everyone's blogs right now while my Mamma is here visiting. We are always doing something and life feels a little bit chaotic right now but it is so worth it because my Mamma is here :o)

My Mamma is going to be here until Monday and until then I am going to try to blog a little bit every day but I am sorry that I will not be doing much reading. After Mamma leaves I will be stuck to this computer like a fly to sh*t LOL. That much I can promise!! I dream about the blog world, I feel like I am missing out on everything...that's how much I miss you all :o)

Not me! Monday 2/15/2010

It's time for another addition of Not me! Monday. To play along all you have to do is click on MckMama's button and she has all the directions there :o) Have fun!!!

This is not what my washing machine looked like on Friday!!! The hose on the washing machine did not get completely destroyed in the move and the washing machine did not spray water all over the place when we tried to use it.

All the clothes in the house were NOT dirty and we were not in deep doo-doo until the washing machine was fixed!! We are not still trying to catch up on laundry.

For Christmas my Mamma made me these beautiful flowers to put up and they did not sit in a box until she came here to put them up herself :o) Don't they look great? I love them and I think they make my house look like a home!

Today Mamma and I did not go shopping again!! We did not go to Michael's, Jo-Ann's and Walmart and we sure did not buy a bunch of fun craft stuff!!! After we came home my Mamma did not sit down on the couch and make this wonderful creation for Kobe! Kobe was not so super excited about it that he made me take a picture of it (I was going to take a picture anyway but I thought it was great that he wanted me to take one too :o).

Getting to know YOU in Illinois

First let me start by wishing you a Happy Valentine's Day!!! I hope you all had a wonderful day with your loved ones!

It's time for my first Getting to know you in Illinois :o) Getting to know YOU is a blog carnival that the Fabulous Keely over at Mann Land 5 came up with. If you want to play along all you have to do is click here or on the button above.

Now on to the questions...

1. Favorite Valentine's candy?

I love the Valentine's snickers or getting a box of chocolates :)

2. Pink or red?

PINK

3. Will you be doing anything to celebrate today?

We went to church this morning and then we spent the day at Dewayne's Aunt and Uncle's house. We have never been much for going out on Valentine's Day....it is crazy and hard to get reservations. We went out last year and it took us all night to get a table, we didn't eat until almost 11 PM.

4. Do you put up Valentine's decorations?

No I don't. My Mamma always did when I was little and I used to love it. Maybe next year?

5. What does Valentine's Day mean to you?

Not much to be honest! I am not against it or anything but I don't celebrate it and I don't expect anything from Dewayne (it's always nice to get something though :)

6. Would you rather get..flowers, candy, or a night out?

I would rather get flowers but they are so expensive right before Valentine's Day that they are not really worth it.

7. Sexy lingerie or nothing.at.all?

I have yoga pants and my hubby's T-shirt on.

8. Do you say Valentine's Day or Valentime's Day?

Valentine's Day!!!

Busy Day and no time for myself or blogging

Today has been a hectic day. Dewayne's Grandmother came over last night and spent the night here with us (she doesn't drive long distances and we are about 45 min away from her). The house was FULL with Granny, our 4 boys, Dewayne, myself, my Mamma and Maya. It was noisy but loads of fun.

This morning our landlord had to come over to fix a few things and he spent most of the day here :o( Dewayne took his Granny home and took the boys to Drill practice (it is at the rec center where he went from the time he was a little boy until he moved away and went to college). The boys had a great time and can't wait to go again.

Mamma and I were busy here at home doing our crafts :o) I made something awesome and can't wait to show it to the rest of you. I promise you will see my little lambs soon enough.

After Dewayne and the boys came home, Mamma and I left to do some shopping. We hit up Target and Walmart and put a big dent in our wallets...that's ok though, we got loads of great stuff LOL.

Now I am off to bed, I swear since I moved here I can't stay up at night. I am always in bed around 9 PM and sleeping about 10. I am also up at the butt crack of dawn (around 7 or 8 AM) and feel great! I love how good I feel in this house!

Good Night and sleep tight! Hopefully you have no bed bugs that bite ;o)

First Five Question Friday in Illinois!!!

My Little Life

Well friends, it is finally here...the day I get to write my first 5QF post in my new home!!! It took a lot of blood, sweat and tears to get to this point but we are all settled in and as of about 8 PM last night, I have cable, internet and a phone (the phone is not quite working). I now feel like I am back in the real world and out of Box City. We do not have any boxes left upstairs and it feels great to walk around upstairs and everything is put away. I still have some work to do on my side of the basement, that is where I am going to have my craft corner.

Now, as you all should know by now, Five Question Friday is a blog carnival created by Mama M over at My Little Life. If you want to play along just click here. If you do not have a blog or just want to tell me the answers to the questions...just leave me a comment.

Okay, on with the questions :o)

1. What is the one thing your love does for you that you can't live without?

He keeps my toes warm at night. It's silly I know, but I love that I can always stick my toesies on him or under his toesies :o)

2. When did you know your love was "the one"?

It didn't take long for me to figure that out, about a month after we started dating I knew I was gonna marry him :o)

3. Does your love have a special ringtone on your cell?

Yes he does. It is a song called...Baby your my everything! I don't remember who sings it though...sorry :o)

4. What are you attracted to most in your special someone?

My husband is super sexy, what is there not to be attracted to? LOL. I love his sense of humor, he can always make me laugh. I can be mad about something or mad at him and he can make everything better and have me laughing in no time. I love that!

5. Did you know when/where he/she was going to pop the big question?

No, I had no idea!!! We were laying in bed and he told me that he loved me so much and couldn't see his life without me in it and told me he would marry me tomorrow if I agreed. The rest is history...we were married 3 months later and lived happily ever after :o)

MckLinky Blog Hop

Wanna see a little bit of what we are doing???

My Mamma came on Monday and she will be here with us for two weeks. I love having her here with me and we have been busy doing all kinds of crafts. Uh well, we are also getting my house situated...I just like doing the crafts more :o)

One of the things we (I say that like I am really doing this, Mamma is the one mainly doing this) have been working on is curtains in the kitchen. Here is a little peek at what we have done so far....

Whatcha think??? I love em!!!

We have only finished the top part of them and are working on the rest today or tomorrow. I have two windows in the kitchen and I needed some pretty curtains for them :o)

Stay tuned for 5QF...my first in Illinois!!

I'm Back Baby!!

I finally have internet set up at my new house! I am so excited to be able to finally catch up with all of you and be able to start communicating with the Blog world again!

Last weekend I wrote a recap of our move so you can read all about it. A lot has happened since I left Virginia. I am going to leave you with this and then I will write more later.

Took Kobe to the Drs and found out he had strep throat. Picked up medication and went home to finish the last of the packing and cleaning so we could hit the road. I got home from the Drs about 12:30 and immediately started cleaning out the house. I hate finishing up the little things because even after all the packing I did I still didn’t feel like I had done enough. There was so much little stuff that still needed to be packed up and put in the truck.

We had scheduled our final inspection for 4 PM and by the time the guy came I was on my hands and knees cleaning the kitchen floor for the last time (of course I put the mop in the truck). When the guy arrived he told me that I didn’t need to clean the floors….this is the same guy that told me that I needed to make sure I mopped the floors URGH!!!! The guy walked through the house and told us that everything looked good and we were good to go. YES!!! We were now on our way to a new beginning.

I ran over to my old friend that I talked about in this post and said good bye. I told her and her family how much I loved them and was going to miss them. It was really hard to say good bye to her little girls, I love them to pieces! Then I went over to my friend Jennifer’s work to say bye to her since I left before she came home from work. We then drove to Hampton, VA where I went to a friends house to say bye to her and her family (I know I will see them again) and Dewayne went to his friends house to say bye.

Now we were off to start our journey to Illinois. By this time it was 7:30 PM and everyone was exhausted after the long day we had had. We drove until we were about 60 miles out of Roanoke, VA (I have no idea where we were when we stopped) and stayed in a hotel for the night….Huge mistake!!!!

We were all exhausted and went right to sleep. The next morning we woke up at 7 AM to start our drive. I looked out the window and there was at least 6 inches of snow on the ground. We were all really excited since we haven’t seen snow in forever and went to eat breakfast at the hotel. We sat by the window and talked about the beautiful snow and how fun it would be to play in it. Then we got in our truck and Dewayne and Delorean got into the UHAUL.

We got on the highway and started driving at about 30 mph and the road was really slippery. The roads had not yet been plowed so it was crazy to drive on them. We got to the next exit and decided to stop at a gas station to buy a window scraper and fill the truck and UHAUL up before heading any further. When we pulled into the gas station, I got stuck of course. It was up hill and the car was just sliding and not wanting to go up the hill. I am used to driving in snow though so I got myself out of it :o)

After getting gas we headed back out and decided to just take it real slow and make sure that we all made it there safely. We got about 10 miles before we had to stop again because my windshield wipers were freezing. It was snowing so hard, the snow was so wet and the temperature was so cold (about 16-22 degrees) that the snow would freeze within a few minutes after hitting my windshield wipers. It was really scary to not be able to see through the window.

We decided to stop to clean off the windshield wipers and right before we got to the exit Dewayne started swaying in the UHAUL and slid into a ditch. It looked like he was going to flip the truck and I about had a heart attack watching all of this from my rear view mirror. I backed up till I was as close to him as possible and ran out of the truck to make sure they were okay.

There was an ambulance right behind them and the Paramedic came running over to make sure everyone was safe and a cop pulled up right at that moment. The cop called a tow truck and told me to get in my truck and get off at the next exit and wait at the gas station for the guys. I followed the cops directions and got really lost!!! Never listen to cops when they give you directions :-O I ended up finding my way to the gas station in the end!

I waited and tried not to freak out about the whole situation and the guys finally got there. The guys were fine, they just kept telling me not to worry. We talked it over and decided that if we stayed where we were we were risking getting stuck in the snow. We decided to keep driving but just drive slowly and take our time. We got back on the road and drove as far as we could in between stops. I got lucky a few times and drove behind a snow plow. In about 7 or 8 hours we got about 100 miles. By the way, West Virginia sucks to drive through in snow!!! It was nothing but mountains and it was not plowed!

After we hit Ohio we were able to pick up some speed and really get going. We drove until about 10 PM and then stopped when we crossed the Indiana border. We got a motel room and ate White Castle for dinner (the boys and my favorite). We were all pretty excited about getting to our destination. We all had a hard time falling asleep, all except Dewayne…he fell asleep as soon as he finished eating, We talked excitedly and watched a little TV and then finally at about midnight we fell asleep after listening to a train go by so close to our room it sounded like it was coming into the room.

We woke up and were on the road by 8 AM the next morning excited about getting to our destination. We drove the whole time straight and got to our new house at around noon (central time). We looked around at our new home and the boys were really excited about their new rooms. I really like the choice my husband made, the house looks really good and he made the right choice!

We called around and got some of Dewayne’s cousins to come to the house to help us unload the UHAUL. We finished unloading the UHAUL at around 5 or 6 PM, I had already set up Kobe’s crib and my bed so we could sleep in our beds. Tyrique and Markus slept on their mattress on the floor (we just bought them new bunk beds). We ate some sort of take away dinner and then we went to bed.
