Vampires

Have I mentioned how much I love all the Vampire movies, books and TV shows out there???  No....what you don't know about my Vampire obsession!!!!  I read the Twilight books in about 3 days....that is all 4 of the books in 3 days!!!  I LOVED them!!!  I have seen the first two movies and now I am waiting excitedly to watch the third movie....Eclipse is showing tonight at the theater here in town and I pre-purchased my tickets to make sure I could get in.  The tickets are half price tonight...that would be why I am going to see the movie.  The other two I waited until they came out on DVD before watching...I'm not really into paying full price to go to the movies!

My sisters Birgitta and Amelia are going with me....or I'm going with them....I guess it just depends on how you look at it!!!  The movie starts at 10:30....waaaaay past my bedtime on a school night :o)  I think I will be able to stay up to watch this movie though....I love the love story of Bella and Edward and can't wait to be a part of their love again :o)

I also love True Blood, the show and the books!!  I can't wait to read Charlain Harris's latest book.  The Vampire Diaries are soooo good too!!!  I liked the show but I had a really hard time getting into the book...I only tried reading one, don't even know if there are more.  I was just really into the Twilight series at that time and had a hard time getting into Vampire Diaries.

So now you know my secret....or not so secret, I love Vampires!!!

My lil' sister Amelia just asked me if I am Team Edward or Team Jacob and I have to say that I am team Edward as in I wanted Edward and Bella to end up together but I think Jacob is cuter in real life.

So the question is....are you Team Edward or Team Jacob???

Changing

I am making some major changes all around in my life.  My blog is getting a blogover and my apartment is getting an extreme home makeover (cheap edition).  My Dad and brother in law are going to come and tackle my house from top to bottom.  I am having new floors put in through out the house and then my Dad is going to re do my bathroom.  I am really excited to have new flooring put in...the floors I have there now are disgusting.  I am also painting the whole house an antique white.  I am hoping that I will be able to sell the house quickly after I do these renovations.  I am going to take lots of pictures before and after and I will be updating the blog so you can see the work that will be done.  I am going to move to my sisters house for a week or two while the renovations are being done.

I am doing some reconstruction in the house too, I will be adding a bedroom and losing a dining room.  The dining room was just a large unused room that I used for my computer....in other words it was a glorified office :o)  The boys are really excited because they will be getting their own rooms again.  My apartment here has two bedrooms with the option of three and right now the big boys are sharing a room and Kobe and I are sharing a room.  Tyrique and Markus do not do well with sharing a room so not only are they excited but I am excited too :o)

Hopefully the work will start next week and we will be able to move back into the apartment soon.  I have been wanting to do this work for so long and am beyond excited that it is finally being done.  When  I bought the place over 6 years ago I wanted to do all this work but getting the help to do the work was really hard.  Now I have the help and I have most of the supplies :o)

Getting to know YOU

Happy Independence Day America!!!  Happy Birthday Isabella!!!  My niece, my little firecracker is 7 years old today!  My sister found out she was pregnant on Halloween and delivered on the 4th of July :o)  I am so excited to give my niece her present from the boys and I.  She has been asking me for earrings for her birthday and no matter how many times I ask her she always asks for the same thing.  Of course I bought her earrings :o)  I bought her two pair.  I am going to take pictures of her with her earrings and I will post them later.

1. What do you look forward to the most on the 4th of July?

When I am state side and can enjoy the 4th of July...I love the fireworks.  I think the boys would say the same thing LOL!

2. Are you a hugger?

When it comes to my family yes.  When it comes to anyone else NO!!!  I do not like to shake hands and I do not like to touch people.  I have a germ phobia!!  I do not want anyone else's germs on me :-O

3. What is your favorite BBQ'd food?

I love BBQ'd hot dogs (preferably a little bit crispy) and I loved when my brother in law makes pork chops on the grill....yummy!!!

4. Do you like to watch parades?

Nah, not really!!  

5. Who has stinkier farts..boys or girls?

Since I have nothing but boys in my house and I am not going to admit to being stinky!!!  I say the boys do :o)

6. Vampires or Werewolves?

Vampires!!  I am not into hairy guys and well Werewolves are kinda really hairy LOL!!!!

7. Do you read your horoscope?

Sometimes!  I used to read it every day when I was younger and now I read it sometimes at work.  

8. What is your favorite flavor of ice cream?

Cookies and cream!  I used to eat it like crazy when I was younger but now I don't eat very much ice cream.  I love milkshakes though!!!  My favorite milk shake is Vanilla!!!  I love Vanilla milk shakes....yumm!!!

New Name??

I have been thinking lately about a change for my blog.....a new look and a new name!  When I started blogging, I was a wife and Mamma.  Now I am single and I will always be a Mamma.  I think part of my problems with blogging lately (besides the whole divorce thing) is that I feel kinda like I don't fit into the crowd anymore :o(  There are not many single Mom blogs that I read...I can only think of a few.  I want to get back into blogging and I think I am going to change things around a little bit...starting with the name of my blog.  I have been thinking of new names for my blog and this is what I came up with....

I'm not sure which one I like better so I have decided that I want your help trying to figure out what to name the blog.  I am going to put up a poll on my blog and you get to vote.  Let me know what you think and then lets see what happens :o)  If you think of something better than that PLEASE let me know.   I am all ears and ready to hear what you have in mind.

Bad News

Thursday night I was at my sisters house when my Dad called to give us some bad news.  My Uncle was in an accident on Thursday afternoon and was really badly hurt.  He was trying to pull a boat out of the water at a lake and the machine they were using fell over on him and trapped him in the freezing cold water.  This happened at 3 pm and his whole body was submerged and only his head was sticking out of the water.  My other Uncle was the only other person there with him and he couldn't get the machine off of him and called for help.  It was 4 pm by the time the rescue squad was able to get the machine off my Uncle and airlift him to the nearest hospital that could handle the severity of his injuries.  They knew his foot was bad when they rescued him but they had no idea the extent of the damage he had suffered.  

When he got to the hospital the doctors examined his injuries and they determined that his foot would need to be amputated right below the knee.  There was concern because my Uncle had been in the water for so long and he has been so sick (he had a really bad cold that he was just getting over and I am not sure if it was pneumonia or not).  So far the foot has been amputated and my Uncle has had to have an EKG because his heart was beating irregularly but other than that he is doing great.  He is 67 years old and just retired.  As I said to my Dad, if you have to lose a limb at any time in your life I would want to lose it after I have finished raising my kids and done all the running around I needed to do.  Now he is just needing to heal and then he starts therapy.

After hearing this news my Dad was telling us about our cousin.  She was diagnosed with breast cancer 5-6 years ago and they removed her left breast.  She had two children at the time and had just met a man  (he is the one who discovered the lump).  She was in remission and doing fantastic.  She married the guy and they went on to have two daughters together.  Now they are getting a divorce and she just found out she has liver cancer.  We don't know yet how far along the cancer is or if there is a chance at curing it.  My cousin needs some prayers.  Her youngest child is about a year old and the oldest is 10.  They need their Mamma!!!

This was a lot to take.  I ask you to keep my Uncle and my Cousin in your prayers.  Their families are in need of some prayer too.

1. What is one thing you miss the most about childhood?

Not having to pay bills and my Mamma cooking all the meals :o)

2. Are you still friends with your friends from high school?

Thanks to Myspace (before I knew about facebook...now it is all about facebook) yes I am.  Through Myspace we found each other and I have met up with several of them :o)

3. Is there a catch phrase, cliche, or word that just drives you bonkers every time you hear it?

Nah, I can't think of any.  I have a teenager in the house...I can't get hung up on stuff like that.  I would go bonkers then :o)

4. What is one thing that you think symbolizes America...besides "Old Glory"?

The military!!!  After being a military brat (child of military parent or parents) and a Navy Wife I think the military symbolizes America.  Where would we be without them???

5. What are your 4th of July weekend plans?

Being that I am in Iceland and we don't celebrate American Independence day I will be celebrating another way....my niece Isabella is turning 7 years old on Sunday and I will be there to watch her blow out her Birthday candles and make her wish.  I have missed way too many birthdays and I love that I get to be here for this one!!!  

Just Thursday

It is finally Thursday!!!  Thursday means that it is Friday for me :o)  I am off for the next 3 days and I could not be happier :)  I need to go to Reykjavik (the capitol of Iceland...located about 45 minutes away from the city I live in) and go shopping.  There are two stores there that sell American stuff and I can't wait to get my hands on some of the things there :o)  There are some things that I really miss...my orange scented pine sol!!!  I love the orange scent when cleaning and I really miss it.  I was informed that I can buy that at one of the stores in Reykjavik.  Also one of the stores sells Great Value (Wal-Mart) brand stuff.  I am just excited to go look at what I can get.  I am also going to IKEA...have I mentioned how much I love living close to this store :o)  If you don't remember it then you can read about it here LOL!

Outside my window.. it is raining like crazy and it is really blah!!  The Taxis are in their regular place though and the planes are flying!!!

The time is.. 9:01 Am

Today I feel.. excited about having the next few days off :o)

I am thinking.. that I need to finish my grocery list by the end of the day so I won't have to worry about finishing it tomorrow.

At the moment, I am thankful.. for my boys.  I don't know where I would be without them.

I am going.. to Reykjavik tomorrow (did I mention that?  LOL  I'm excited...what can I say).

I am wearing.. my uniform...dark gray pants, white shirt and a dark gray vest with some heels.

I wish.. I could get everything on my to do list done in a day...too bad it is going to take a lot longer than that!!

I am reading.. nothing.  I don't have time to read!  I'm tired of this answer...maybe one day I will have something more exciting to say.  I just got the book The short life of Bree Turner by Stephanie Meyer (Twilight book) and I really want to read it before I see Eclipse.

I am working on.. this blog post and getting all kinds of work stuff done.

I am hoping..  this day goes smoothly here at work.  Yesterday was kinda crazy...I was asleep less than two hours after getting off of work.

I am hearing.. the buzz of the airport all around me.

Around the house.. the house needs to be cleaned...it usually needs a cleaning after my shifts.  I need to catch up on laundry (there is not too much) and I need to wash the sheets off of the beds.  I love clean sheets :o)

I bet you didn't know.. I am a Sales Agent at Hertz rental cars :o)  

One of my favorite.. I am going to tell you one of my favorite things to do.  When I get up to go to work in the morning (I leave the house by 5 am) I look at the boys sleeping and my heart swells.  They are so innocent and pure and I love it!  It makes me feel so complete to look at their sweet faces and to know that they are all mine :o)
